BIO

Marco Ramaglia is passionate about contemporary and electronic music. Fascinated by new creative approaches to music, Marco is a founding-member of the improvisation trio SUZAKU (cello, dance, piano) and of the ensemble for electronic music Ctrl_X (synthesizers, e-cello, e-violin).

 

He has been collaborating with important composers of our time (H. Lachenmann, O. Finnendahl, G.Benjamin, N. A. Huber and C.A. Landini ) – an experience that continually challenges and broadens his artistic views. He has been performing with several renown institutions such as the Schauspiel Frankfurt, Hessischer Rundfunk, Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main and participated in festivals such as the Cresc... Festival, Gaudeamus Musikwoche, Firenze suona contemporanea, Quantensprünge – ZKM Karlsruhe.

Marco was a member of the IEMA - International Ensemble Modern Academy.
A highlight as pedagogue was his time as a piano teacher at Jiaozuo University,China. Now based in Frankfurt am Main, he loves backpacking and meditating.

 

Marco’s formal studies have been in Frankfurt am Main and Trossingen, Germany as well as in Naples and Rome, Italy. He got further guidance from Ueli Wiget and Ensemble Modern, Francesco Pepicelli and Angelika Merkle in chamber Music, Peter Nelson and Axel Bauni in Lieder.

The first book of his Piano Etudes has been published by the Are Verlag.
